EZBlocker is currently un-supported.

EZBlocker is a simple-to-use ad blocker/muter for Spotify. EZBlocker will attempt to block ads on Spotify from loading. If an ad does load, EZBlocker will mute Spotify until the ad is over.

There are no fancy features, just pure ad blocking. When an ad is blocked, only Spotify is muted, so no other sounds will be affected. EZBlocker aims to be the most stable and reliable ad blocker for Spotify.

There's no setup required - just drag it into any folder and run. To upgrade your EZBlocker, simply replace the executable file.

FAQ

Why is my Spotify is permanently muted?
There may be issues with EZBlocker muting Spotify on your computer. You can manually modify your Spotify's volume by opening the Volume Mixer.

How do I block banner ads?
Check the "Block Banner Ads" box to enable banner blocking. Enabling and disabling this feature requires you to run EZBlocker with administrator privileges.

Does EZBlocker block video commercials?
EZBlocker will mute videos but not prevent them from playing. If you don't want video ads, make sure you keep your Spotify minimized.

Why does my anti-virus say EZBlocker is a virus?
The latest version of EZBlocker may be picked up by a few anti virus programs. This is most likely due to the way EZBlocker disables Spotify's ads. If you do not feel comfortable downloading the executables directly, feel free to view the source code and compile it yourself.

How do I donate?
I don't accept donations for EZBlocker. I would rather you spend your money on Spotify Premium. If Spotify Premium isn't offered in your region, I suggest donating to a non-profit such as the Tor Project.

Is EZBlocker open source?
Yes it is, and I encourage all to contribute. The source & technical description is available on Github.

great piece of software 🙂
i am absolutely loving it.
it works perfectly for me (win7 professional, 64bit).

i checked “gapless playback”, because having it unchecked will make you hear the last ~0.5 second of an advertisement. this is just a tip for whoever has ran into this as well, and is bothered by it.

thanks for creating/releasing, and for keeping this up to date!
cheers

Hi,
i tried using EZBlocker on a Virtual PC running XP (the XP mode from WIndows 7), since i had the Problem under Win 7 that Spotify “hides” some windows on startup (actualy it deletes the windows, so you need to restart them). Under Virtual PC i can’t use EZBlocker (or other tools like Blockify), they don’t work. Under Win 7 directly this works.

DO you have any idea?

thx

The app doesn’t block properly at all. Ads that are added are still bypassing your app and new ads are added to the blocklist but are not muted. Idk if your app is broken or Win7 bug/Spotify patched. Try to get a fix here.

I’ve tried this on two different Win 7 computers.

It works on my HP Pavilion laptop but not on my Dell XPS desktop. I’m not sure if hardware differences are a factor or not…just mentioning that just in case. Or maybe there’s some difference with how .NET is configured?

I did verify .NET 3.5.1 is installed on the computer EZBlocker is not working on. Specifically for me, the “mute/unmute” function isn’t working.

Doesn’t seem to be working on Win7. I’m seeing all ads. Annoyingly, it wants to block the music i’m playing instead. Any ideas? New install of both Spotify and your app.

Nice job on this program! Thank you!
Is there some way to keep the EZBlocker window on top, or have it pop up to the top when I mouse over it, or click on its icon in the systray? Sometimes it takes me so long to minimize all my open windows and get to EZBlocker that the ad has ended by the time I can click “add current to blocklist.”

Eric, thank you for making this program. It’s a great tool!

There’s just one little thing about it:
If the program is started, “Enable Taskbar Notifications” is switched on. If I uncheck this box, it is switched off, but only as long as EZBlocker is running. If the program is closed and started again, it doesn’t remember the setting taken before.
Can that be changed in any way?
