EZBlocker is currently un-supported.
EZBlocker is a simple-to-use ad blocker/muter for Spotify. EZBlocker will attempt to block ads on Spotify from loading. If an ad does load, EZBlocker will mute Spotify until the ad is over.
There are no fancy features, just pure ad blocking. When an ad is blocked, only Spotify is muted, so no other sounds will be affected. EZBlocker aims to be the most stable and reliable ad blocker for Spotify.
There's no setup required - just drag it into any folder and run. To upgrade your EZBlocker, simply replace the executable file.

FAQ
Why is my Spotify is permanently muted?
There may be issues with EZBlocker muting Spotify on your computer. You can manually modify your Spotify's volume by opening the Volume Mixer.
How do I block banner ads?
Check the "Block Banner Ads" box to enable banner blocking. Enabling and disabling this feature requires you to run EZBlocker with administrator privileges.
Does EZBlocker block video commercials?
EZBlocker will mute videos but not prevent them from playing. If you don't want video ads, make sure you keep your Spotify minimized.
Why does my anti-virus say EZBlocker is a virus?
The latest version of EZBlocker may be picked up by a few anti virus programs. This is most likely due to the way EZBlocker disables Spotify's ads. If you do not feel comfortable downloading the executables directly, feel free to view the source code and compile it yourself.
How do I donate?
I don't accept donations for EZBlocker. I would rather you spend your money on Spotify Premium. If Spotify Premium isn't offered in your region, I suggest donating to a non-profit such as the Tor Project.
Is EZBlocker open source?
Yes it is, and I encourage all to contribute. The source & technical description is available on Github.

I’m on windows 8.1 and it works great. Love it, clever & straight forward. For anyone who says it outright doesn’t work, remember you often have to hit “Add Current to Blocklist” when an ad is playing or it might seem to be doing nothing if it doesn’t auto add it to the block list. Also if you’re doing that and it’s still not working make sure you run it from a user directory like a sub directory of your “My Documents” folder or the desktop. I tried running it in a directory i created inside of Program Files and… Read more »
Still working fine in France, some adds pass but they can be blocked manually.
Thank you again for this !
Ads seem to be passing through the blocker now – it was working great until last week. Did Spotify change something?
Hey Man, nice program! Just a comment on the Auto block function, its generally pretty accurate but sometimes it gets a false positive. When i subsequently remove the author from the blocklist and the song is still playing it will auto add it again to the block list. Maybe when you remove something from the blockist it should be automatically added to a whitelist so it will recognise its not a add the next time the song plays.
i feel like the spotify people are aware of your program and have figured out a way to get at least 1/3 of their ads through the auto-filter. maybe program a shortcut/hotkey for manual block?
Hey Eric, thanks for writing the app. I was wondering if it was possible to turn off auto-starting the Spotify application when EZBlocker is launched because it throws a redundant “Spotify is already running” error on system startup. I’m currently running an EZBlocker shortcut in shell:startup with properties set to start Minimized, so there’s that, but Spotify itself doesn’t start up minimized and I would like to use its native setting of starting up minimized instead of EZBlocker’s auto start. Also, the latest release doesn’t seem to detect Spotify ads and mute them when Spotify is minimized to task tray.… Read more »
dont work in windows 8.
is it possible to startup this program minimized?
Yeah I wish there was an option for that aswell.
EZBlocker works fine. I think it can do with a little improvement though… I like to place al my programs, utilities, executables etc. somewhere in the program files folder. When starting EZBlocker, it creates a blocking list and some more stuff in the location where the executable is located. Because the program files directory is not writable, EZBlocker won’t start. I think the right solution for this is, EZBlocker should create a subfolder in the program data folder and put the blocklist there and all the other files should be placed in %tmp%. For now, I have a workaround. I… Read more »
