FAQ
Why aren’t ads being muted?
Did you enable EZBlocker in your Accessibility settings? Also make sure you don’t have Spotify in the foreground. EZBlocker only activates when the Spotify icon is visible in the notification bar. Read the installation and usage instructions above. In rare cases, some ads may slip through EZBlocker’s filter. Leave a comment below if this happens.
Will EZBlocker slow my phone down or drain the battery?
Probably not. EZBlocker takes minimal RAM and CPU usage and only runs when Spotify is active. It’s footprint is roughly ~20% that of Spotify’s. Newer devices will not notice a difference.
Is EZBlocker for Android open source?
It will be eventually. Right now, EZBlocker for Android is still in its testing phases, so the code is pretty messy and undocumented.
Is this still being worked on? because it doesn’t work for me 🙁
Are you launching spotify from the EZBlocker app and NOT on its own?
hi, i used le no vo 369i, and this app failed to start
I just got 3 ads in a row on Spotify. I have the EZBlocker enabled under accessibility, and Spotify was in the background with its notification icon on top. Why not work????? ?
Uff I already thought that only one I have this problem. I also have done this with instruction.
It, unfortunately, doesn’t block ads. Android version is 4.4.4. Something have change in spotify that ads aren’t blocked. Weird.
Same for me, Honor 6 with android lollipop. Followed all the instructions with no use.
Got the same version…just gotta block them manually then -_-
Hello and thanks for your work! However when I installed EZBlocker on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Core, 4.1.2 stock) and restarted, it started showing an icon on my notif bar, “Talkback is enabled”, even though it is disabled in accesibility options. Can you please check it out?
Hi Eric, I just found this awesome modded APK on the XDA forums that allows you to choose whatever song you want, in the free version for Android. I figured someone like you might be interested or even capable of helping it work even better, by possibly removing ads on unrooted devices. It’s updated regularly, and it works for selecting any song even for unrooted phones, but only people with rooted devices and adaway can remove the ads. Just thought you might be interested, if you have trouble finding it. Search Google for “XDA Spotify Mod Tablet 7/27/15” Cheers, keep… Read more »
Overall it works quite good. The problem however is that this app also mutes the music after the Spotify ads. 1-2 songs are unfortunately muted, does anyone know why I have this problem?
Idk if it’ll work.. but some others guys out there wants to choose music specifically or disable shuffle on spotify.. just search it on google there are lots of apks there… 🙂
I guess I can’t post links here, but there is an APK for this. You can select whatever song you want. Just make sure you clear your Spotify cache, then clear your Spotify data, then uninstall it, before installing this modded APK.
Search google for “XDA Spotify Mod Tablet 7/27/15” and don’t worry about the tablet part, it works on phones.
Hope you enjoy 🙂 It works on unrooted devices, and if you have a rooted device you can use something called adaway to remove the ads as well.
Wow! This is like having Spotify Premium for free!
Not working on Galaxy S4: Android 4.4.2 and Android 5.0.1.
